South African Airways (SAA) and Air China are to strengthen bilateral cooperation within the Star Alliance as part of the strengthened cooperation between the two countries, said the national carrier on Friday.
This came as President Jacob Zuma wrapped up his State visit to China on Friday.
“The key element in this strengthened relationship will be some network reconfiguration for both airlines to provide better passenger and cargo services between South Africa and China and countries adjacent to both,” said the airline.
Air China President Song Zhiyong and acting SAA Chief Executive Officer, Nico Bezuidenhout, have agreed at a meeting at Air China headquarters on the immediate establishment of a Joint Working Group between the two airlines to immediately commence implementation.
