An online networking platform - that brings together transport and logistics leaders and investors from 34 countries -  has been launched by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).

“The Senior Member Network (SMN) that was launched this year allows our members to network; ask questions; and share best practice,” said Paul Brooks, international president of CILT, during an interview with FTW Online on the side lines of the  AfricaRail 2016 Conference and Exhibition.

Brooks mentioned that one of the challenges faced by the South African rail and port industries was the inability to connect with chief executives in order to reach out for: information; advice; and even investment opportunities. “The SMN allows our members to bridge that gap and gain access to each other,” he said.
